You spoke, we listened - Community Surveys


You Spoke

At the start of the local residents were invited to partake in a my community voice surveys. You identified the following as the top issues that the police should priorities:

1) Nuisance Vehicles

2) Theft

3) Criminal Damage

 

We Listened: Action Taken

Nuisance Vehicles

- Proactive management plans were set up by the police local community safety units.

- Robust powers have been utilised to seize many vehicles under Section 59 of the police and reform act. 

- Partnership working with the council and to send out warning letters. 

- Warrants were executed at an address of repeated problems. Offenders arrested, stolen vehicles and drugs recovered. 

 

Theft

- Op Regain was set up as week-long proactive operation specifically targeting Theft offences. 

- Prolific repeat offenders have been arrested and remanded. 

- Beat Officers and Neighbourhood Task Force working with local shops to identify and target offenders.

- Working with neighbouring police forces to identify offenders who travel to Kent to commit crime. 

- Op Zafira set up as a multi police force operation targeting vehicle crime. Operations have taken place at regular intervals throughout the year, resulting in the recovering of numerous high value stolen vehicles and apprehension of offenders. 

- Neighbourhood Task Force worked with Crime Squad to target burglary offenders.

- Vulnerable victims susceptible to rogue trading and fraud offences have been prioritised. Offenders have been arrested and work continues to target offenders of this appalling crime. 

 

Criminal Damage & ASB

- Steps taken to implement increased surveillance and CCTV in hot spot locations.

- High visibility and increased patrols by local officers. 

- Community Protection Warnings and Notices served upon high harm offenders.
