SpeedWatch - A249 Sittingbourne Road, Maidstone

Following concerns raised by local residents, Police speed enforcement has been undertaken in the 30mph zone of the A249 Sittingbourne Road between the junctions with the B2012 Holland Road and Penenden Heath Road. A number of drivers were detected travelling well in excess of the posted 30mph speed limit. Three drivers caught speeding were issued with Traffic Offence Reports at the roadside and face a fine and points on their licence. The fastest vehicle detected on this occasion was travelling at 46mph - over 50% above the posted limit in this residential area, which could result in an instant driving ban at Court. Don't give us cause to deal with you for excess speeding.
