Successful Bike Marking Event at Sevenoaks Train Station

Today’s Free Bike Marking Event, hosted by Sevenoaks Police at Sevenoaks Train Station, was a great success. Beat Officer PC Hubbard and PCSO Wilders were in attendance, engaging with the public and helping to protect residents of Sevenoaks from bike theft.

The event saw a fantastic turnout, with numerous bikes marked free of charge—a service that would normally come at a cost. By marking their bikes, attendees took an important step in crime prevention, making it easier for stolen bikes to be identified and returned to their rightful owners.

Due to the overwhelming success of today’s event, police are planning further bike marking sessions in the future. Keep an eye out for upcoming alerts!

PC Hubbard said: “I have been working to address the issue of bicycle theft in the local areas surrounding the train station, where suspects have been breaking into outbuildings to steal high value bikes. As part of this effort, I put together an proactive management plan that included community engagement to help raise awareness. This was a great event and it was fantastic to engage with the public in this way. Not only were we able to offer some tangible crime prevention, but we also shared practical tips to help people keep their bikes secure. It was great to see such a strong turnout and to provide reassurance to the local community, showing that police are committed to reducing crime.”
