Dear Residents,
We hope you are all doing well and enjoying your week. We wanted to provide you an update regarding what we have been up to recently in your areas.
As usual we have dealt with incidents regarding shopliftings in the Town Centre from various businesses. The swift action of beat officers to several of the reports resulted a number of suspects being arrested, and the stolen items being recovered. These incidents have all led to positive outcomes.
With the weather improving we seen an increase of anti-social behaviour in the parks and have routinely been patrolling at key times. One such incident we managed to stop check a group of youths using NOS cannisters. Following the searches a large amount of drugs and paraphernalia were located. Enquiries are still ongoing to identify the others involved and will be dealt with robustly. Another call received to another park led to a suspect being identified and arrested for a sexual offence. If you are in the area, and note anything of concern, please be vigilant and report any matters to the Police.
Further reports have been received from the area of Showfields and Ramslye of nuisance bikes and them being ridden in an anti-social manner. A bike was identified for being ridden in such manner following which the registered keeper was visited and his bike was issued with a Section 59 warning. A section 59 are warnings against the person, or the vehicle even if a driver can’t be identified where the vehicle is being used in an anti-social manner. The following step should the vehicle be used again in such a manner will lead the vehicle being seized and the rider summonsed to court. Please continue to report rider/ vehicle descriptions, vehicle indexes, times, locations and any other relevant information about nuisance bikes so that we can continue to tackle this problem.
