Sports Connect Sessions Back in Sheerness

Good Morning,

Sports Connect sessions have returned to Beachfields Park, Sheerness every Wednesday afternoon form 3:30pm-6:30pm and have been well attended by local youths. The scheme is aimed at reducing youth related ASB in the area and provide activities for local kids to engage in free of charge to local families.

The sessions will continue to run through the whole summer come rain or shine as Kent Police continue their partnership with Sports Connect to provide a safer, better place to live. Last year during the period the Sports Connect sessions being run in Sheerness the Ward saw over a 50% decrease in youth related ASB.

Sports Connect also are able to identify young persons interested in sports coaching and offer courses to gain qualifications in coaching which can help with future employment, so the benefits of attending the sessions for young persons can be more than just a couple of hours to keep them occupied!

We hope to see as many local youths attend the session over the coming weeks and months, and if the weather is like the below picture from yesterday, who can complain?!?
