E-Bikes - 2 for one!

Beat Officers have been out today engaging in some compliance visits with Trading Standards when 2 young persons have attempted to make-off on an adapted E-Bike. The Officers managed to haul them from the bike and detained them for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act after a very strong smell of Cannabis was noticed.

One of the males was found in possession of a small amount of Cannabis Bud and has been issued a Community Resolution. The E-Bike has been seized for destruction as its build means it is illegal to be used without insurance in public.

As we stopped to deal with these two, an E-Scooter has been on the pavement and was brought to a stop when it tried to speed past us, quite literally falling into our arms. This was one also seized for destruction.
