🚨 Community Speedwatch Update – Speeding Driver Visited by Police 🚨 |
||
Hello Resident
Thanks to the local Community Speedwatch team in Westerham, a driver who was observed exceeding the speed limit in Croydon Road, has been formally visited by police officers. Following the report from volunteers, officers attended the address of the vehicle’s owner to speak with the driver about the dangers and consequences of speeding. This visit serves as a reminder that speeding is not only illegal but puts lives at risk, especially in residential areas where pedestrians, children, and cyclists are present. Please remember: Speed limits are not targets — they are maximums. Drive safely and responsibly.
We’d like to thank our Community Speedwatch team for their continued efforts in helping to keep our roads safe. Their work plays a vital role in supporting local policing and promoting road safety. Speedwatch is a community-based scheme where volunteers record speed of passing vehicles in the area where they live. Around 93% of vehicles observed once by Speedwatch volunteers are not seen speeding again in the next 12 months within Kent.
