Anti Social Behaviour Catapults

Good morning all,

Yesterday I was called to reports of youths shooting wildlife in East Malling and Aylesford. I did not manage to find the youths in East Malling however later in the evening I had an email from a member of public stating that there was 3 youths at the Royal British Legion Village walking through with catapults. They also called this through to out 999 system but I was already on route with blue lights and sirens before dispatchers called me up. Upon attending incident location residents pointed in the direction of the youths and I found them sitting in McDonalds. All 3 were stopped searched under section 1 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act and 4 catapults and lots of metal ball bearings were found. The parents of all 3 youths were spoken and good telling off given. The catapults were seized for destruction.

This is positive and quick action lead by information from the public. Also helped I was in the right place at the right time. Please keep calling these incidents because we do get them. I then did manage to attend the Eccles Parish Council (although a few minutes late) and showed the types of catapults we are taking off the streets.
