Hello all, Since taking over as your ward officer I have been made aware of numerous complaints of anti-social vehicle usage such as speeding and loud music being played from vehicles. I just wanted to offer an update that following these concerns my colleagues and I have been conducting targeted patrols in some of the locations suggested by residents and councillors. I have conducted road checks in the Sarre and Cliffsend area. One male was observed speeding and driving in an anti-social manner and was stopped and subject to roadside drug testing. He was issued strong words of advice and has been issued a s.59 warning notice, meaning that if he is found again driving in this manner his vehicle will be seized. Dozens of motorists have been stopped and their vehicles checked for the appropriate documentation and roadworthiness.Whilst out on the beat, I have conducted a stop search on a male found in his vehicle following suspicion of drug possession. He was arrested for drug driving, drug supply and weapon offences with various items seized. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.I have made repeat visits to a location highlighted by councillors as being frequented by individuals causing ASB and using drugs. I will continue to monitor the area and will keep councillors updated.Work is ongoing to tackle the problem of heavy goods vehicles causing problems in Acol. I have spoken to residents and councillors on this issue and will be linking in with local Speedwatch officers and the DVSA to come up with a plan to minimise disruption in this area.Warm regards, PC 15496 Crush
