BCRP Awareness Week – Sevenoaks

The end of last month marked BCRP Awareness Week and officers across Sevenoaks took the opportunity to strengthen links with local businesses and focus on tackling business crime. On Friday 20 March, the Police and Crime Commissioner joined officers on patrol in Sevenoaks town centre, visiting several shops to hear directly about current concerns and discuss how the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) continues to support them.

Officers also patrolled with BCRP lead Dennis Glasspool, encouraging more stores to sign up to the online DISC system. A number of businesses joined during the patrol, giving them access to a secure platform where they can share real time information and stay aware of what is happening across the town.

Earlier in the week, officers hosted a Business Crime Forum for local member stores, where DISC was further promoted and a range of strategies were discussed to help simplify crime reporting and improve best working practices for businesses affected by crime.

All in all, a positive and productive week, and a good step forward in strengthening our work with the business community in Sevenoaks.
