Cannabis Cultivations – Know the Signs

Hello Resident,

We are asking for your help in identifying properties that may be used for illegal cannabis cultivation.

These setups are often linked to organised crime and can present serious dangers, including fire risks due to unsafe electrical wiring.

Cannabis grows are commonly hidden in ordinary residential properties, so please be aware of the following signs:

Windows that are constantly covered, blacked out, or sealed

Strong, unusual smells coming from the address

Excessive heat or condensation, such as misted windows or heat from vents

Bright lighting at unusual hours, including during the night

A constant humming or buzzing noise (from fans or ventilation systems)

Frequent short visits, often at unusual times of the day or night

Visible wiring, ducting, or unusual alterations to the property

Occupants rarely seen, despite signs the address is in use

Cannabis farms can pose a significant risk to neighbouring homes and communities.
