During the morning of Friday 22nd May 2026, PC Laker, PCSO Mart, along with colleagues from Licensing and Trading Standards, attended several shops in the Rolvenden, Tenterden, and St Michaels areas to conduct checks on licensing conditions. These checks included reviewing staff training, refusal logs, Challenge 25 compliance, and the storage of alcohol and vaping products.

The visits were well received by staff, and a small number of minor breaches were identified. These included issues such as incomplete staff training records and refusal logs not being fully up to date.

All matters identified can be easily rectified, and appropriate advice was provided. Further guidance was also given to one premises regarding the storage of vaping products, particularly highlighting the risk of theft if staff are distracted.
