Deal - E-scooter Seizure |
Good afternoon Resident
I would like to highlight positive proactive policing activity carried out today in the Deal area. Officers have been conducting targeted enforcement in relation to the unlawful use of e-scooters. During patrol, an e-scooter was observed travelling along Mill Hill in a manner that did not comply with road traffic legislation and raised concerns regarding rider safety. Upon becoming aware of police presence, the rider attempted to evade officers by entering a nearby public house. The rider was subsequently apprehended, and the e-scooter was seized. Enforcement action was taken, resulting in a £400 fine and the endorsement of 6–12 penalty points on the rider’s driving licence. This outcome demonstrates our continued commitment to proactive policing. We will take robust action where offences are identified, with the primary aim of improving safety on our roads and within our communities. Additional Safeguarding Advice on E-Scooter UseTo enhance public safety and awareness, the following points may also be included: Public Awareness: Parents and guardians should be mindful of children or young persons using e-scooters, particularly given the legal restrictions and potential penalties involved.
