🚨 Three Arrested Following Suspicious Activity in Broadstairs & Westgate 🚨

On Friday 5 June 2026, Neighbourhood Task Force Officers working alongside local Beat Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle spotted in the Broadstairs area.

The van’s occupants were quickly linked to an attempt to steal cooking oil from a local school. When challenged, the vehicle made off — but officers didn’t lose track.

👉 The same vehicle was soon located in Westgate-on-Sea, where the occupants were attempting to carry out further thefts.

✅ Three males were arrested on suspicion of going equipped and theft
✅ All have since been bailed pending further enquiries

🛢️ Why cooking oil?
It might sound unusual but used cooking oil is now a valuable commodity. Criminals target it because it can be processed into biofuels such as biodiesel and Sustainable Aviation Fuel, making it surprisingly lucrative.
