Peacock House, Lydd |

Hello all
I would like to draw your attention to the press release links on this post and ask that you read them please especially if you haven't already done so.
I know that there has been much speculation on social media over the last few days with regards to a serious assault on three males near to Coronation Square, Lydd which has led to negative comments and false allegations made about ‘residents’ of Peacock House, Dennes Lane, Lydd. Firstly, there are no residents at Peacock House but there are KCC staff and security on site as stated in one of the below links and I have been there myself this afternoon and can confirm that this is the case. Secondly, there is absolutely no link to Peacock House and its staff and the assault that took place in Lydd on Saturday evening. Therefore, I respectfully ask that there is no further ‘speculation’ made about Peacock House or anyone who is frequenting the property (staff and security) especially on social media because some of the videos and comments posted have caused unnecessary concern and are quite frankly inflammatory. Any abuse that is directed to staff/security at Peacock House will be investigated by the police. I have already reviewed CCTV at Peacock House and it has excellent coverage of its entire perimeter so unless you have a lawful reason to be there, please do not enter the grounds of the property otherwise security will contact the police and CCTV will be reviewed immediately. I am aware that there has been mention of a gathering (peaceful demonstration/protest)as a direct result of mis-information that was communicated on social media over the last few days however, I would ask that any organisers of this remain on the correct side of the law as there are factors that need to be taken into account and these can be easily found online. As one of your local officers I would also like to appeal to anyone thinking of organising or attending a gathering/protest this weekend in Lydd that you consider cancelling it due to the mis-information that has generated it in the first place, also as you will know, it is Lydd Club Day on Saturday and is one of those positive and upbeat weekends of the year for Lydd that many people look forward to and I would like to think that political views could be put to one side for now and just enjoy what the club day brings for your town. I will be there and so will my colleagues, I'll make sure I wear my custodian helmet so I'm recognisable, please come and have a chat with me!
On a completely separate note I have had to cancel my New Romney surgery that was scheduled for this Saturday afternoon so if you were going to attend please accept my apologies for the short notice cancellation.
Thank you Steve.
