Two Teenagers Detained Following Suspected Moped Theft in Tenterden

In the early hours of 5 September 2026, officers detained two teenage males in St Michaels following a report that a moped had been stolen from a garage in the Tenterden area. Despite attempts to flee the scene, both suspects were detained by officers.
 

A 14-year-old boy from Tenterden was arrested and a 16-year-old boy from High Halden was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, going equipped to steal and theft of a motor vehicle. During the arrest, officers also recovered a catapult.
 

They remain under investigation while enquiries continue.
