Community Safety Message - Vehicle Interference Reports in Southborough and Bidborough |
||
|
Dear Residents,
During the early hours of Saturday 10 October 2026, Kent Police received a series of reports of vehicle interference across Southborough between 2:15am and 4:42am. Incidents were reported in Yew Tree Road, Holden Road, London Road, Taylor Street, and Bounds Oak Way.
Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing. A significant amount of CCTV and doorbell footage has already been obtained and reviewed, which has helped officers establish the movements of the suspected offender throughout the area.
Today, officers from the Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Policing Team and I conducted house-to-house enquiries in the affected areas, speaking with residents and identifying further opportunities to gather information and CCTV footage that may assist the investigation.
I would like to thank the community for its cooperation and support.
In addition, Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) have attended several addresses, and forensic opportunities have been explored in the hope that evidential material can be recovered to assist in identifying the offender.
Whilst enquiries continue, I would encourage residents to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles are properly secured, particularly overnight.
Crime Prevention AdviceKeep vehicle keys away from doors and windows, and consider using signal-blocking pouches for keyless vehicles.
Reporting to PoliceIf you witness suspicious behaviour, including individuals trying vehicle door handles, looking into parked cars, or entering private driveways during the night, please report it to Kent Police via 999.
Residents are also asked to review any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage covering the period between 2:00am and 5:00am on Saturday 10 October 2026 and report anything that may assist the investigation.
Thank you for your continued support and vigilance.
PC 14889 Danny Barnes
