Herne & Broomfield
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Antisocial behaviour - general. Issued 15 October 2025 |
Reports of antisocial behaviour in Herne & Broomfield remain low. However, officers have carried out targeted activity involving individuals who cause problems in Herne Bay but live in the Herne and Broomfield area. This has included proactive engagement and searches at premises linked to an incident involving the theft of a motor vehicle. One of these searches took place at a pub connected to the individual, so officers have also engaged with licensing to address any related antisocial behaviour. Actioned 19 January 2026 |

E-scooters/nuisance motorcycles. Issued 15 October 2025 |
PC Melia has been attending Broomfield BMX Park, where nuisance bikes have been reported most often, but has not found any being used illegally during patrols. He has also seized illegal electric bikes in the wider area as part of tackling this priority. Since this action, there have been no further reports of nuisance bikes in the area. Actioned 19 January 2026 |

Wildlife crime issues. Issued 15 October 2025 |
Since the previous survey period there has been no reported animal related incidents for the ward. There has not been any reports to local beat officers directly or through other reporting methods. As such there is no locations or individuals we can target around this priority. High-visibility patrols have been conducted in the area to provide a visible deterrent. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
