  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 15 October 2025

Consistent action has been taken from summer through winter to address antisocial behaviour linked to certain groups and individuals. Officers have tried to engage positively with those involved, including through the Child Centred Policing Team, although this has had limited impact. Regular checks have been carried out in locations where antisocial behaviour has been reported, and officers have given advice to residents experiencing issues. The public have also been encouraged to report incidents so police activity can be better targeted.

Beat officers have enforced bail conditions where they apply and have identified young people involved in crime using CCTV. Officers have also engaged proactively with parents, making it easier to resolve issues when young people are stopped in the street. The area has seen a decline in antisocial behaviour during the winter months.

E-scooters/nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 15 October 2025

Nuisance bikes have been stopped whenever officers have seen them on the roads. Several young people using electric scooters have been spoken to and given advice about using them safely and legally. One rider had their electric scooter seized after being seen again following a previous warning.

There are safety risks when dealing with this issue, as pursuits can lead to injury. The Community Safety Unit is exploring safer and more effective ways to tackle nuisance bikes and scooters.

Drug dealing.

Issued 15 October 2025

Beat Officers have been proactively checking locations known and associated with drug supply and continuing to build intelligence around known drug dealers. We have recently stopped vehicles linked to county lines and conducting pro-active stop-searches. This visible engagement is serving as a deterrent to subjects involved in drug supply. The intelligence we submit from members of public is key in building intelligence around Heron Ward so that the appropriate department can review and act on this intelligence.
