Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour - general.

Issued 15 October 2025

Residents have told us that antisocial behaviour in the Riverside Development area is a key concern. Police Constable Carver is working closely with partner agencies and local businesses to deal with these issues.

This area has been identified as a hotspot for antisocial behaviour, and a dedicated plan is in place to tackle the problem. Our Beat Team carries out regular high‑visibility patrols on foot and in vehicles. When we find people involved in antisocial behaviour, we speak to them, take their details, and take further action when needed.

Where appropriate, young people have been taken home to their parents. We have also seized pedal bikes and e‑scooters, as these are often used during antisocial behaviour.

Thanks to this ongoing engagement and enforcement work, we have now formally identified several young people who were previously unknown to the police.

Drug dealing.

Issued 15 October 2025

PC Carver is taking a firm and proactive approach to tackling drug dealing conducting regular high‑visibility patrols and targeted activity to disrupt dealers who are operating within the community and will continue to provide that police presence moving forward. Using available information from engaging with the local community, PC Carver continues to build the intelligence picture around drug dealing in Northgate, and will use this to develop targeted operations in the future.

E-scooters/nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 15 October 2025

High‑visibility patrols have been taking place in the Northgate area. Officers have stopped vehicles to make sure no road traffic offences are being committed. When we find offences, we issue a Traffic Offence Report.

A Traffic Offence Report (TOR) is a form we give to a driver when we believe a driving offence has happened. It allows the case to be reviewed and can lead to a fine, points on a licence, a training course or, in some cases, a court appearance.

If needed, we also seize vehicles. E‑scooters used in antisocial behaviour have been taken off the streets. No nuisance motorcycles have been stopped during this period.

We will continue these patrols and will take action whenever it is needed.
