Swanscombe

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Report crime

Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.

If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

  • in an emergency, call 999

  • call 101 for non-emergency enquiries

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Antisocial behaviour.

Issued 08 October 2025

PC Hodge has also been active in supporting the community. He has held several coffee with a cop sessions and local surgeries, giving residents a chance to speak with him directly, receive updates, and get safety advice.

He has carried out high‑visibility foot patrols as well as marked and unmarked mobile patrols. This work has helped identify persistent offenders and issue sanctions under the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

We continue to work with local partners to reduce opportunities for antisocial behaviour (ASB). Dartford Borough Council’s Housing Team is currently working with us to address a problem area, with a dedicated week of action planned soon.

Recently, an operation with Trading Standards led to the recovery of a large number of illegal vapes. These products were being bought by underage young people who were then involved in ASB‑related incidents.

Drug dealing.

Issued 08 October 2025

PC Hodge has been using his local knowledge of known drug users to focus on areas believed to be used for drug dealing. His high‑profile patrols have helped reduce drug use and drug dealing in the area.

He has shared this information with the wider Neighbourhood Team so officers travelling through Swanscombe from Northfleet can include the area in their regular routes. This increased police presence has had a positive impact and supported ongoing efforts to keep the community safe.

Drug taking.

Issued 08 October 2025

PC Hodge has been working closely with Dartford Borough Council to identify problem addresses linked to drug use and the antisocial behaviour that comes with it. We are now exploring Community Closure Orders, which can be used to temporarily close a property where serious nuisance or disorder is taking place. These orders restrict who can enter the address and are designed to protect the community and prevent further antisocial behaviour.

High‑visibility foot patrols in local parks and recreation areas have led to stop checks on suspicious individuals, with Community Resolutions issued for simple drug possession where appropriate.

This work continues to support our wider efforts to reduce antisocial behaviour and keep the community safe.
