Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Nuisance motorcycles.

Issued 08 October 2025

Working with local businesses has led to speed‑reduction humps being installed, which has helped reduce the number of nuisance motorcycles in the area. We know some riders are still causing problems, and we are working to identify the vehicles used to transport the bikes. Traffic Offence Reports have been, and will continue to be, issued where appropriate, and bikes will be seized whenever possible.

Antisocial behaviour.

Issued 08 October 2025

We held 'coffee with a cop' sessions and local surgeries, giving residents the chance to meet their beat officer, receive updates and get safety advice. Officers also carried out both high‑visibility and plain‑clothes patrols. This helped us identify persistent offenders and take action under the Antisocial Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Vehicle crime.

Issued 08 October 2025

After reviewing crime data, we found that most vehicle crime was happening around local hotels. Officers have been working closely with hotel groups, giving them clear crime‑prevention advice and practical steps to make thefts from and of vehicles harder to commit. Several arrests have been made, and those involved have been charged and sent to court. Sadly, some hoteliers who did not follow the agreed actions have also faced sanctions.
