Antisocial behaviour

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers are carrying out regular, high‑visibility foot patrols in Radnor Park to tackle concerns raised by people living nearby. These patrols have had a clear deterrent effect on antisocial behaviour. Officers spend time in both the upper area near Folkestone Central Station and the lower park, including the play park and fishing ponds.

As part of ongoing prevention work, officers have also been working with Folkestone Academy. Police officers visited the school to deliver assemblies to every year group explaining what antisocial behaviour and harassment are, how certain actions can become criminal offences, and the impact this behaviour can have on other people.

Officers also spoke to students about joint enterprise. This means someone can be held responsible for a crime if they knowingly take part in it or encourage others to do so, even if they did not carry out the main action themselves.

Where antisocial behaviour continues, officers can use a range of powers.

This work forms part of a wider approach to prevent offending, support young people, and keep Radnor Park safe and welcoming for everyone.

Drugs.

Issued 03 February 2026

Radnor Park has been identified as an area of concern for cannabis use and other drug‑related activity, following issues raised by people living nearby. In response, officers are carrying out regular, high‑visibility foot patrols in the park.

These patrols have had a deterrent effect. Where appropriate, officers have also carried out stop and search activity, which has led to cannabis being seized from a number of individuals.

Officers will continue to maintain a visible presence in the area to help reduce drug‑related behaviour and provide reassurance to the local community.

Road safety.

Issued 03 February 2026

One of the ongoing road safety concerns in the area is unsafe and illegal parking outside The Folkestone Academy during school drop‑off and pick‑up times.

Officers have carried out patrols outside the school during the morning period. During these patrols, drivers have been spoken to and given warnings where vehicles were parked illegally or in a way that put students and other road users at risk.

This location will continue to be monitored. Drivers who continue to park unsafely or ignore road markings may be issued with fines.
