Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Youth involved in disruptive activities. Issued 03 October 2025 |
After engaging with the victim to understand the problem and its impact, several actions were taken. Officers worked with local schools to identify those involved and carried out truancy sweeps to discourage loitering and ensure children were returned to school. Home visits were made to repeat suspects and to any young people found in areas where antisocial behaviour was taking place. Actioned 19 January 2026 |

We understand there are ongoing concerns about road safety in the Hythe area, particularly following several serious road traffic collisions. There are also parking issues in some locations that create additional risks. Actioned 19 January 2026 |

Reports of drug misuse in public areas is low in the Hythe area. Key areas where drug supply and use is occurring has been identified and forms part of daily beat patrol to detect offences and deter re-offending. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
