Romney Marsh
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.
Report crime
Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.
If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Road safety. Issued 03 October 2025 |
Officers have charged two individuals with drug‑driving, issued several Traffic Offence Reports, and given warnings under Section 59 of the Road Traffic Act to address antisocial driving. A Section 59 warning is issued when a vehicle is driven in a way that causes, or is likely to cause, alarm, distress or annoyance. If the same person reoffends within 12 months, their vehicle can be seized. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
|
Fly tipping. Issued 03 October 2025 |
Officers are aware of fly‑tipping in the marsh area. Although incidents have decreased, we know it is still happening in a few isolated locations. We will continue high‑visibility patrols to help deter offenders and will pass all relevant information to the district council, as fly‑tipping falls under their responsibility rather than the police. Actioned 19 January 2026 |

Antisocial behaviour. Issued 03 October 2025 |
Officers have received very few calls about antisocial behaviour during the autumn months. This may be due to colder weather, as well as an increase in high‑visibility patrols. Foot patrols have taken place in New Romney, Dymchurch, St Mary’s Bay, Burmarsh and Lydd, as these are areas where concerns have previously been raised by the community. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
