Walland & Denge Marsh

Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Our officers will:

  • patrol to deter crime and reassure the public

  • hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns

  • work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups

  • tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability

  • build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive

Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Report crime

Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.

If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

  • in an emergency, call 999

  • call 101 for non-emergency enquiries

Local Priority Issues

Priority Action taken

Road safety.

Issued 03 February 2026

Messages have been shared through My Community Voice, the police two-way messaging service, about speeding, e‑scooters and general road safety. These have also been shared in local Facebook groups to help reach more residents.

Officers are regularly in the area and remain alert to vehicles and drivers who should not be on the road. A speed‑detection device is also used to carry out spot road checks and can be deployed at any time depending on operational demand.

Antisocial behaviour.

Issued 03 February 2026

Officers regularly patrol Lydd and the surrounding areas, and this visible police presence helps reduce antisocial behaviour.

When young people are identified as being involved in antisocial behaviour, officers carry out home visits and speak with them and their parents or guardians. This approach has been effective in stopping or reducing poor behaviour in the community.

There has been a recent increase in reports of antisocial behaviour in Lydd, and investigations are ongoing. In one recent incident, a young person was identified after throwing stones into a resident’s garden. This behaviour had happened on several occasions, but the individual involved has now been identified and is being dealt with appropriately.

Dog fouling.

Issued 03 February 2026

Dog fouling is unpleasant and can have a real impact on residents. Enforcement is the responsibility of district and parish councils, and any reports received by the police are passed to them to deal with.
