Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.

Antisocial behaviour. Issued 03 November 2025 |
Local residents, community groups and town‑centre businesses have told us that antisocial behaviour is a major concern, and it remains a key priority. The town centre is a known hotspot, so officers are continuing regular targeted patrols. We’ve already issued several Community Protection Warnings and Notices, which have led to arrests and charges for repeat offenders. Our officers will continue to take firm action against anyone who ignores these rules. At the same time, we’re working closely with partner organisations to support individuals involved in antisocial behaviour, offering help that aims to change their behaviour for the long term. Referrals and signposting to support services are ongoing. Actioned 14 January 2026 |

Drugs. Issued 03 November 2025 |
We’ve been carrying out a significant amount of proactive work to tackle drug-related crime. This has included multiple arrests and stop‑and‑search activity linked to drug supply and possession. Officers are continuing high‑visibility patrols in areas known for drug activity, along with checks at addresses connected to drugs. Your local beat team will keep acting on intelligence from the community to disrupt and reduce drug activity in the area. Actioned 14 January 2026 |

Shoplifting. Issued 03 November 2025 |
The Thanet Safe network is active in the town centre, helping local businesses share information quickly about individuals involved in incidents. Our local beat officers continue to respond promptly to reports and take action against offenders. They are also carrying out regular high‑visibility foot and mobile patrols across the area to deter crime and reassure the community. Actioned 14 January 2026 |
