Newington
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.
Report crime
Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.
If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance. Issued 03 November 2025 |
Officers have begun addressing antisocial behaviour by carrying out local surveys to understand residents’ views and acting on the information shared with us. Known offenders have been given acceptable behaviour agreements, and officers are providing engagement and support where needed. PC Howard is also working closely with Housing Teams, Thanet District Council and other partner agencies to offer help in different ways while continuing to take action to reduce antisocial behaviour in the area. E-scooters. Issued 03 November 2025 |
We’ve been tackling the illegal use of e-scooters in Ramsgate. It’s important for residents to know that e-scooters are not allowed on public roads, pavements, or cycle lanes, and can only be used legally on private land with the permission of the landowner. Kent is not part of any government e-scooter rental trial, which means that any e-scooter used in a public place is against the law. We’ll continue taking action to keep our roads and community safe. Actioned 14 January 2026 |

Drugs. Issued 03 November 2025 |
Officers have been working hard to tackle drug-related crime in the area, including drug driving. In recent weeks, several people have been arrested for possessing drugs and driving under the influence. Officers have also been carrying out regular stop‑and‑search checks, where legally justified, under the Misuse of Drugs Act, taking positive action at every opportunity to keep the community safe. Actioned 14 January 2026 |
