Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.

Road safety issues.

Officers have liaised with the Camera Enforcement Team regarding ongoing community concerns about speeding along the A20 through built up areas. Updates are being sought regarding the potential use of average speed cameras.

Officers are aware of car meets and illegal street racing in Hollingbourne and surrounding areas. To date, the registered owners of 13 vehicles have been contacted. Work continues to identify repeat offenders and take appropriate enforcement action.

Speedwatch was carried out in Lenham and Harrietsham, with numerous drivers spoken to and given words of advice. A driver witnessed drifting and performing a doughnut in Lenham was issued a Section 59 warning under the Police Reform Act 2002. Any further offences may result in vehicle seizure. A Section 59 notice is a warning given when a vehicle is used in an antisocial or dangerous way. If the same person uses any vehicle like this again, the police can seize it straight away.

Joint work continues with Kent County Council Public Rights of Way and Securing the Landscape. Proactive patrols have taken place in previously identified locations, and nuisance bike leaflets have been distributed locally.
