Birling, Leybourne & Ryarsh
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of Kent Police beat officers who are dedicated to keeping your community safe. They focus on preventing crime and antisocial behaviour, responding to local concerns, and building strong relationships with residents, community groups and local businesses.
Our officers will:
patrol to deter crime and reassure the public
hold regular engagement activities in the area, including attending community meetings to share advice and listen to concerns
work with partner agencies including councils, schools, charities, and local groups
tackle issues like antisocial behaviour, repeat offending, and vulnerability
build trust by being visible, approachable, and responsive
Neighbourhood policing is a key part of Kent Police’s commitment to being community-focused, visible, and responsive.
Report crime
Please do not contact neighbourhood officers to report crime.
If it's not an emergency, the easiest way to contact us is online. Your report will be sent direct to our control room where it will be reviewed by the same team who answer our calls.

Road safety issues. Issued 09 October 2025 |
Officers are working with the council to utilise CCTV resources for monitoring and evidencing speeding offences as well as carrying out checks in well-known areas where speeding is a problem. They are also exploring opportunities for joint enforcement initiatives to deal with criminals who use the road network to travel across district borders. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
|
Vehicle crime. Issued 09 October 2025 |
Officers have been spending more time in the area to make themselves visible, which helps discourage people who might try to break into vehicles. They’ve carried out stop checks when needed, and they’ve also given the community advice on how to protect their cars and belongings. Due to this work, vehicle‑related crime has gone down over the last three months. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
|
Fly tipping. Issued 09 October 2025 |
The beat officer checks reports of fly‑tipping, and if they can work out who was responsible, their details are passed to the local council so action can be taken. The number of fly‑tipping reports has stayed low. The police and the council regularly share information about fly‑tipping and any locations where it could become a problem. Actioned 19 January 2026 |
